  1. Great Upshot Discs, similar to a "non-Plus" XD without as much "action". Review by kanidrive

The Colt feels great in the hand and has minimal turn when thrown high with hyzer "out of the box". I've also managed to peg a few tricky Forehand go-for shots from uncomfortable stances and obstacles in the way for my Birdie shots and Par saves. I've been experimenting with The Colt off the tee on holes <300 feet and its accuracy seems inconsistent beyond 275 feet, especially if its broken in. I'm not able to predict when it will fade at the end of its flight, or how much "drifting turn" to expect in any significant wind like I am able to with the Stud. Brand new and in the highest weights, this disc seems capable of accurate drives 230 - 280 feet but once it starts breaking in, the accuracy isn't quite there off the tee as it seems to want to stay straight or flip slowly.

I've been a huge fan of the original XD for about 2 decades (with multi-year hiatuses included) and this disc seems like the closest fit you'll find to it.

I tried the Colt first before using the Stud since the F2 Stud I received was a blend of dark blue and baby-BM green that is hard to find in the grass when you are literally standing 5 feet away from it in broad daylight whereas the Colt I received was an awesome Bright Orange. In my opinion, the Colt is actually a great replacement for the original XD mold from 20+ years ago, though they have significantly different "wings". I've you like driving with an XD or XD+, you might like the Stud a little more than the Colt.

Just for reference, I'm currently throwing a 171g Star Vulcans & Valkyries about 325-375 ft Backhand and in the neighborhood of 275-325 ft Forehand with 171-175g Champion Katanas and Shrykes from tees on the course. Open field I might be able to squeeze an extra 25+ feet in my quest to get back to 400-450+ ft drives.

A broken in Colt would have a place in my bag for uphill putts, upshots less than 200 ft, very trick spots to putt out of, as a go-for finesse shot disc, or off the tee on short holes <220 ft. with narrow fairways. Just like the XD, its rather versatile. (Posted on 8/2/2017)
