Description

Details

The Roc is simply the best, most versatile mid-range disc ever made. It provides accuracy at any range. This disc can take and hold the angle of release, even into a headwind. It can be used for driving, upshots, straight shots, hyzer shots or anhyzers. The Roc ages gradually and predictably. If you’re not sure what disc to throw, choose the Roc; just like most pros.

Xt plastic starts off slick but after a several tosses it starts getting tasty.

While the Xt Aviar lacks in the high speed stability, the Xt Roc does not and it was rather forgiving on accidental high speed throws and anhyzers.

I feel good about this purchase and will reordermore as soon as max weights are available. (Posted on 7/8/2017)

Not much to be said that hasn't been already when it comes to an iconic disc like the Innova Roc. It's been the workhorse of so many players and fully deserves its legendary status in the world of disc golf. Versatile, dependable and really the only midrange you will ever need if you cycle them.
Now I've tried most configurations of the Roc family and I have to say that this is by far the one I love the most. If it's a midrange shot, the XT Roc is what you'll see in my hand.
XT I feel is an underrated plastic (check out my other XT reviews to get an idea of how much I love this plastic) but I don't care; just means I'll never run out - and I would definitely have an issue if my round started without my XT Roc, Aviar, Whale and P2.
As for the XT Roc, it is just a beautiful disc. Pancake flat, it feels truly awesome in the hand and it has just the right balance between grippy, yet chalky plastic. It's not soft at all but more like a grippy Star or DX in terms of flexibility. The disc will wear in and I cycle two; one straight and one new, overstable Roc.
Excellent for cooler climates and winter play but no issue at al when temperatures rise (not tested them in fierce heat though).
If you like flat topped Roc's then I don't know why you haven't bought one, but I'd appreciate it if you let me buy mine first. ;) (Posted on 5/17/2017)

While everyone bangs on about McPro Aviars, or Sexton Firebirds, those in the know are here, buying this fantastic disc (blues are mine! Lol).

Surprised that it hasn't made more of an impact but XT plastic has quickly filled the slots of some of my games most crucial spots, in particular from 250 ft and in. If you like the XT Roc I can't highly recommend enough the XT Aviar and the X-line P2 also.

Awesome, awesome discs and plastic. Thank you, Innova. New order just placed. (Posted on 5/13/2017)

I really like this disc! I carry DX Rocs, but I may switch to these XTs as mine wear out. The XT is a little stiffer, and yet grippier to me. Nice disc. Would recommend. (Posted on 1/23/2016)

If you like ROCs you'll love these. Flat top and sucked in a little in the middle (similar to the YETI Aviar tops) . XT plastic works in all weather. I throw lots of ROCs and different molds, but this is one of my favs. (Posted on 10/31/2015)

I've gone through the ropes with the Rocs. I've tried them in every plastic, weight, everything. This disc is probably my favorite of them.

My go-to Mid right now is actually the Roc3, because I like the overstability that they offer a little bit more for cycling purposes, but if you've been a fan of the DX Roc cycling process, the XT is definitely where you should go next.

At this point I use my XT Roc for low ceiling anhyzers or hyzerflips that need a lot of glide and carry. When it beats in a little, it's the best understable midrange I've ever thrown. I'll definitely be buying more in the future once my current one beats in too much. (Posted on 9/8/2015)

  7. Great feel, grippy, tacky, and FLAT! Review by Dru #32441

I purchased these after feeling the XT plastic. The plastic is a perfect mix of grippy, tacky, and chalky. It feels amazing. They've been great in colder wet weather where grip is important. They also seem to be very durable. I first thought the plastic would just chunk out like DX does after hitting a tree, but IT DOESN'T! They do beat in a little faster than some of the other plastics but that doesn't bother me. And, the final kicker is these things are board flat. An amazing flat top Roc at a great price! Put one in your bag today. (Posted on 2/25/2015)

First of all, I can back everything Alex said. I will add that Innova did a great job packaging (better than some other online disc retailers) and it came quickly.
Second, XT is not R-Pro. Is has some stiffness and is grippy without being rubbery. I hope more discs are molded in this plastic.
Finally, the flat-top fits well in the hand and makes this Roc very controllable. I will be ordering backups. (Posted on 12/8/2014)

  9. Grippier KC- HIGH PLH Review by Alex

I have had about 20 of these pass through my hands since they have been released including the two that I bag and the two my Wife bags, and our backups. All I can say is wow. The plastic is REAL grippy. Rain, sweat, dew, it retains the perfect balance of tackiness and flex without being sticky and floppy. The PLH on EVERY one that I have held has been stupid high. MUCH higher than the KC's of late and of course pancake flat. These are nice and overstable, will take all the high speed stability that you would want but are still roc- workable. The beat in initially maybe a tad faster than KC, but they hold it for a long time and beat in differently. Where as a KC might gouge and peel on the rim after a horrible tree hit, these will just mildly dent. I am guessing this is due to the more give on impact that the slightly softer plastic offers. Everyone should be trying these, I have converted at least four new roc fiends after throwing these. GET ONE!! (Posted on 9/8/2014)
