Description

Details

The Cro flies slightly overstable and is well suited for both backhand and forehand shots. The stability is comparable to that of a Roc or a Shark, but it will fly a little faster and with less glide. The rim depth and shape offer a smooth release.

  1. Great disc, numbers are a little off perhaps? Review by Collin

I bought this disc due to the similar numbers to the Gator. My goal was to find a Gator that fades a little less. This definitely fades less than the Gator, but it also seems to have just a bit of turn on it. It fills a gap that I had in terms of backhand approaches, but I'm not able to get the consistency I was hoping for with forehand approaches, so I find myself just throwing the Gator instead and just putting a little more turn on it to prevent a little bit of the fade. 2. Consistent Mid Range Review by Daniel

For a while I was throwing Rocs, but I felt that I needed something with less glide. I believe I am more accurate with less glide. I also have a theory that the extra surface area on the large diameter discs can sometimes make the disc do funky things in certain conditions.

I made the switch to Star Cro's and was very pleased. It seemed to cut through the wind and still be predictable as well. I also stopped blowing past the basket and my accuracy increased. I could get my star Cros out to about 325, but there was a little bit more turn than I liked.

Then I discovered the Champion Cro. I bought 4 of these before I even threw one.
They are slightly more over stable than my Star Cros. I use these for shots in the 250-325 range for BH and short FH up shots. I like driving with these because even with a 325 ft throw, there isn't much turn at all (if any.)

I didn't take my Star Cros out of my bag, though. I have them in weights of 165-175, and I use them for approaches, tailwind drives, and anhyzers.

Almost forgot, I also use my Cros for putting on windy days. Works quite well.

Cros are the only mid ranges that I carry now. The different plastics and weights allow me to hit different lines.

Love this disc! Super under rated and a very accurate disc.

Cro is a great mid.. straight and true while it can also hold an Anny or plain Hyzer.. the champ candy like plastic is grippy as well which truly comes into play.. for a small diameter mid with no bead I've hit putts dead straight with this disc before from 100' out on several occasions.. How could you go wrong with a Champion Cro? You can't! I really enjoy the disc. If you are looking for something similar to a small diameter Roc, the Cro is the only way to go. (Posted on 4/21/2013)

these were a little pricey but not bad for LE. these feel amazing in the hand. they have a real weighted feel in the rim, tacky candy plastic and fly fast. (Posted on 3/2/2013)

The Cro is one of my favorite discs. I love throwing overstable discs, and the champ plastic helps it hold the hard snap that I put into throws. Its nice having a midrange you aren't worried about turning over. (Posted on 2/19/2013)

  8. Great Disc Review by Andy

I had been wanting to put a Cro in my bag for awhile; I love the low profile, small-diameter feel. The Champion plastic means it will be aging very slowly and maintaining stability for a long time ... which is good as the Cro is nice and straight with a little fade at the end. As others have said, the flightpath is similar to a Roc, but the feel of the disc in the hand is very different (the Cro has no bead and generally feels more comfy). (Posted on 10/22/2012)

  9. Exactly what I expected (in a good way) Review by Sampson

I am a big cro fan. It is what I pull out for all short drives. The champ cro stays straight and low with a reliable hook at the end. DX turned into a straight cro (not a bad thing) and Star always felt weird to me. The champ was exactly what I wanted it to be and hopefully will stay that way for awhile. Side note: I wipe and dye all my discs, but I almost left this one alone. The clear champ with the white DX stamp looked so cool. Gonna have to get some more and keep at least one stamp. 10. A must have disc for your bag Review by Disc-Troy-er

I started throwing a First Run Cro many years ago and loved it, so I decided to get the Champion Cro for my bag/collection.

Just like it's first run legacy, this disc compliments your bag when you need that "go to" disc.
As a RHBH thrower, I use both of them for headwind approaches, defined lines of attack that I need reliability on with a clean hyzer finish.
I appreciate the round edges and the depth of the wing around the disc. It fits comfortable in your hand for that confident throw.

Spend some time to try one out and then spend the money to put one in your bag. You'll thank me for it on those "go to" risk vs. reward shots. (Posted on 10/1/2012)
